There are many, many organisations in the UK that provide different types of information and support related to a specific cancer or supportive therapy. This makes it very difficult to list all those that may be helpful to you or your carers. The organisations listed here can act as signposts to others who can help in different ways.

CancerBACUP is a national charity providing a helpline for cancer patients, their families and friends. Their specialist cancer nurses can give information on any type of cancer or treatment. They can provide emotional support, practical advice, and details of local support groups and other services for people with cancer.
They also provide 9 local walk-in centres across the country and a very comprehensive cancer information website. They produce 67 patient-friendly booklets and over 220 fact sheets that are free to patients.

Publishes a directory of hospice services that gives details of hospices, home care teams and hospital support teams in the UK and Republic of Ireland. For details of local services, including hospice services for children, write or phone. The directory is available on receipt of a large S.A.E. and three first class stamps. Runs the British Register of Complementary Practitioners and can supply names of reliable practitioners of various kinds of complementary medicine, such as homeopathy, relaxation techniques, and osteopathy. Macmillan Cancer Relief (incorporating Cancerlink) provides information and support for people living with cancer, including access to a UK network of cancer self-help and support groups. Interpreting services and a textphone for those who hard of hearing. Funds the Macmillan Nursing Services, including paediatric nurses, for home care and hospital support. The patient grants department provides financial help towards the cost of a wide range of things. Applications are made through a social worker, health visitor or home care nurse.
