Outreach Services

The BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) Cancer Information and Outreach Project offers support and information for people affected by cancer and their families. Resources are available in Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu.

The project is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.

The services offered by the Project include:

one-to-one information and support in person at the Cancer Resource Centre
telephone information and support
access to all the complementary therapies offered by the Centre and the Home Visiting Service, including masage and yoga
cancer awareness sessions for the local community
training for community leaders, volunteers and health professionals working with Black & Minority Ethnic communities affected by cancer
access to information leaflets/booklets in Asian languages.

There's also a support group for members of Asian communities affected by cancer, which meets monthly.
